![]() #Flirc dongle pro#I expected to see the pro listed in the Activity's device listing not the Console. At first glance it would be remarkably easy to confuse the Flirc unit with an actual thumb drive as the clear case, visible circuit board, and the IR receiver points (that look much like LED indicator lights) all strongly echo the design of thumb drive storage. Note: I did have the Nvidia Game Console defined but it was deleted prior to adding the new pro option. Flirc (20) is a tiny USB dongle about half the size of a traditional thumb drive. #Flirc dongle tv#Not sure why this was done since the device's remote has a single power on/off button indicating a power toggle option was being used by the remote/device.Īdding the device is showing the correct label (Nvidia Shield TV Pro) but the device listing when defining an Activity is showing the older Nvidia Game Console label. Note: I say button(s) because the new device that was implemented (Nvidia Shield TV Pro) has been set up with a 2 button option showing Home for the ON command and Sleep for the OFF command. I do agree that the FLRIC should be updated with power button(s) but that is a task for the author of the FLRIC not Logitech. We do not control a FLRIC device, we control the Shield using the FLRIC application to do it. All the FLRIC does is to capture the IR commands from the Harmony and convert them to something the Shield can use. Sorry Charles, but I do not agree that the FLRIC is a 'device'. The power on option being used as a MENU option functions the same way a Home or Menu command does. On your host PC, d ownload the appropriate configuation utility, and use it to map whatever remote control you want to the Plex Keyboard Shortcuts. The Harmony will now turn on the device when the shield activity is started and turn off when the activity is left. Map the power off screen option to the power button of the 'Media' controller. Since the 19 Nvidia Shield pro remote does have a single button, I would assume that the toggle power should work.įLRIC changes: Map the menu button (now assigned to power on) on the Nvidia controller page. Note: Setting the power option to a two button solution is needed due to the issues trying to use the toggle power command that the single power button needs but does not seem to currently work. #Flirc dongle Pc#Assign the power on activity to the MENU button of the watch shield activity and add the power off command to the screen options of the activity. Define the power on and power off commands as needed at the end of the power modifications flow. Harmony Nvidia Shield change: Change the power options for the Nvidia Shield (game console) device from a single button to the use the two different buttons option. It even adds functionality to devices that ship with overly simplistic remotes. Share with a friend if they have the same remote control.Final: thanks to some friendly support from the guys at AVS.com Forum, I have now fully automated the power on/off functions of the 17/19 Nvidia Shield.
